Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 September 2026
The short version
- We collect only what we need to run Branly: your contact details, the website and brands you ask us to track, and basic technical data.
- We use it to run your checks, show your results and recommendations, and keep the service secure.
- To run your checks, we send the brands, websites and prompts you track to AI companies. We do not send your name or email.
- We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
- You can see, correct or delete your data, or withdraw your consent, at any time. Write to our Grievance Officer, named below.
1. Who we are
Branly is run by BrightSense Private Limited ("Branly", "we", "us"), a company registered in India (CIN U62013KA2026PTC228550) with its registered office at Building No 46, 1st Floor, 12th Main Rd, Sector 6, HSR Layout, Bangalore South, Bangalore 560102, Karnataka.
This policy covers our website, branly.ai, and the Branly product, including sign-up at brightsense.tech. It explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have. We follow India's Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules, and we have written this policy to meet the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and its Rules.
2. What we collect and why
| What | Why we need it | How long we keep it |
|---|---|---|
| Your account details | Your name, work email and company name. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name and email with us. If you use a password, we store it only in scrambled form, so no one, including us, can read it. To create your account, sign you in and contact you about the service. | While your account is open, and up to 90 days after you close it. |
| What you ask us to track | Your website, your competitors, a description of your business, and the prompts you track: the questions your customers ask AI assistants. To run your checks and build your reports and recommendations. | While your account is open, and up to 90 days after you close it. |
| Your website's public pages | Branly reads the public pages of your website, as any visitor could, to see what AI assistants can find and to write recommendations. We do not log in to your website or change it. | While your account is open, and up to 90 days after you close it. |
| Messages and calls | What you send to connect@branly.ai, and the name, email and time you give when booking a call through Calendly. To reply to you and hold the call. | 12 months. |
| Technical data | IP address, browser type, device and pages visited. To run the website, keep it secure and fix problems. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies. | 12 months. |
Much of what Branly measures is public information about companies and the answers AI assistants give. That is not personal data, and this policy does not restrict it.
3. Your consent
When you sign up, book a call or write to us, you agree to us using your data for the purposes listed above, and nothing else. You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to our Grievance Officer at grievance@branly.ai. If you withdraw consent, we stop using your data, but we may not be able to keep providing the service.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal data only with the companies that help us run Branly, and only what each one needs. They act on our instructions and are bound by contract to protect it.
- Hosting and storage: Google Cloud, with your data stored in India.
- Sign-in: Google, if you choose to sign in with your Google account.
- AI services used to run your checks: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google (Gemini), Perplexity and xAI. We reach some of them directly, and some through Cloro, a gateway service. We send the brand names, websites and prompts you track, and the material behind our recommendations. We do not send your name or email. Please do not put personal details in the prompts or text you give us, because we do not remove them before sending.
- Search and website data: DataForSEO, a data service we use to collect public search and website data.
- Call booking: Calendly, when you book a call.
- Website delivery and visit counts: Cloudflare, which runs our website and counts visits without cookies.
We may also share data when the law requires it, for example with a court or government authority, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the public.
5. Data stored outside India
Several of the companies above, including the AI companies, process data outside India, for example in the United States. When that happens, we make sure the transfer is allowed under Indian law and that the data stays protected. We will follow any restrictions the Government of India places on transfers to particular countries.
6. How we protect it
We use reasonable security safeguards. All data is encrypted while it travels between you, Branly and the services we use. Passwords are stored only in scrambled form. Access is limited to the people who need it.
If a breach affects your personal data, we will tell you without delay: what happened, what it means for you, and what we are doing about it. We will also report it to the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
- correct, complete or update it;
- erase it, unless the law requires us to keep it;
- stop using it, by withdrawing your consent;
- let someone else act for you if you die or cannot act yourself (you can name that person).
To use any of these rights, including closing your account and deleting your data, write to our Grievance Officer. We will reply within 30 days.
8. Cookies
Our website sets no cookies. It is delivered through Cloudflare, which also counts visits without using cookies. Like any website host, Cloudflare sees your IP address when you visit. If you book a call, the booking page is run by Calendly.
The Branly app does not set cookies either. If that changes, we will update this policy first.
9. Children
Branly is a service for businesses. It is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe we have, write to us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change is important, we will also tell you by email before it takes effect.
